A few weeks ago I posted about the dangers of commercial shampoo and what some people are doing about it. One of the websites I gave (here's another one) showed how some people are completely giving up shampoo (even the organic stuff), and instead using only baking soda+water as "shampoo," and then apple cider vinegar+water as "conditioner."
A guy I know, IJ, read my post and the websites and decided to try the baking soda/APC thing...and let me just say...his hair feels amazing. I felt it myself. It feels like baby hair, and we all love baby hair (what happened to ours?! evil shampoo).
So after a week or so of debating with myself whether I wanted to take the plunge and try it...I decided to. I bought some BS and APC and gave it a go. This is my second day--the first day my hair felt amazing, the second day (today) it still feels pretty good...def. not greasy or gummy. My roots are completely clean.
I didn't read the website very well the first day I tried it, so that day I just mixed about a tablespoon of baking soda with about a cup of water and poured it on my hair (washed it in). Did the same with the APC.
The second day, however, I read the website and they suggested making a "paste" of some sort with the BS, so I did so. It was def. easier to "scrub" my scalp with this...so let's see if this works better than the wash in the next few tries.
I'll let you know of my progress. :)
